The Alliance undertakes systematic monitoring of gross violations in armed conflict contexts, building the evidentiary foundation for justice, accountability, and the collective memory of human rights struggles. Our approach integrates rigorous documentation, proactive protection, strategic advocacy, and legal accountability into a unified framework against impunity.

Documentation & Monitoring

The Alliance gathers primary testimonies from victims and witnesses following codified protocols that ensure data integrity and strict confidentiality. All information is cross-verified and classified according to international law categories -- crimes against humanity, war crimes, and other grave breaches.

This systematic process builds integrated databases that constitute the human rights memory of conflicts -- the evidentiary cornerstone for all subsequent interventions, from legal proceedings to policy advocacy.

Proactive Protection

Going beyond passive documentation, the Alliance pursues proactive protection for vulnerable groups: human rights defenders, witnesses targeted for reprisal, and victims in ongoing jeopardy. This includes early warning mechanisms, emergency legal aid, and referrals to established protection networks.

The psychosocial dimension is treated as an inherent right, not an optional add-on. All protection activities are governed by the "Do No Harm" principle, ensuring that interventions do not inadvertently expose individuals to further risk.

Advocacy & Pressure

The Alliance exercises systemic pressure on national, regional, and international decision-making centers. This includes submitting periodic reports to the Human Rights Council, engaging with Special Rapporteurs and Treaty Bodies, and active participation in the Universal Periodic Review (UPR) process.

Strategic partnerships with civil society organizations amplify advocacy impact and build a cohesive human rights front against impunity at every level of governance.

Legal Accountability

The Alliance pursues strategic litigation before national courts, international criminal courts, and quasi-judicial bodies. This involves preparing verified evidence, building case files, and commissioning legal expert reports to support proceedings.

Within the broader framework of transitional justice, the Alliance engages with Truth and Reconciliation Commissions, advocates for reparations programs, and pushes for non-repetition guarantees -- positioning itself as a key stakeholder in reconstructing the social contract after conflict.
